Cape Denison Sauvignon Blanc

Pale lemon with a green hue. The 2017 Mawson’s is a vibrant and zingy Sauvignon Blanc, opening with pungent aromas of nettles, Granny Smith apple and green paw paw. Upon further exploration, nuances of fresh grass and wet limestone unfold, with the unmistakable aroma of sea spray that this region is renowned for. This is a vibrant and racy wine, with a creamy texture adding a satisfying fullness to the palate. There are flavours of grapefruit and tangelo, with lovely lip smacking tang redolent of preserved lemons. The finish is long and linear, making this a very enjoyable Australian Sauvignon Blanc, perfect for summertime fun.

The Vickers Chardonnay

The 2016 Mawson’s Chardonnay shows aromatics of fresh tropical fruits, white flowers, such as frangipani, as well as hints of the wild ferment with nougat and biscotti. The palate is refreshing, reminiscent of Portuguese tarts and exotic spices. The wine is textural yet approachable and easy drinking; very much a lighter style of Chardonnay traversing the delicate line between freshness and body.

Far Eastern Party Cabernet Sauvignon

Mawson’s Far Eastern Party Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is Deep crimson in colour tending to red. The 2015 Mawson’s exhibits

the inviting aromatics of Satsuma plum and blackcurrant. Evocative notes of baking spices such as cinnamon and pimento give a sense of warmth and welcome. There is a real sense of place coming from the dusty and minty notes of the Australian bush. You can taste the Terra Rossa soil in the 2015 Mawson’s Cabernet. The palate is lively and bright with expressive flavours of briar and cassis. The tannins are fine and chalky giving the wine great structure without being aggressive or overbearing. This is a delightful example of Limestone Coast Cabernet.
